Running a Christian Business in a secular marketplace.

Hi, it's me the hubby again! I've been trying to beef up the old Facebook pages a little bit this morning, so I just thought I'd come on here and see if any of you lovely people might want to know what we're doing. Ellie and I have another business called www.ChristianWebsiteSolutions.co.uk , which is our main business really, the one that pays the bills. Well, give or take!

It seemed like a good idea to mention it on here, as it's part of a process of hunting for God that Ellie and I began in earnest with Major life changes about two years ago. Setting up as independent web developers was a huge leap of faith, Ellie left ten years of teaching in I.T, I left a nice secure job with good money and a nice car because we both felt that God was calling us to be the best that we could be. And part of that was setting up our business in a way that confidently declares our faith; "Christan" Website Solutions.

It's funny the way things turn out, I really felt that most of our uptake would be from the hundreds of small churches in the area who don't have websites and wanted to harness the power of the web to further the great commission, preaching the gospel to the nations. The reality is a little different, in fact our client base represents a pretty even cross section of business society. I remember one day when I was on my knees praying and God told me to make some calls from a secualr magazine for the first time. Obedient but a little hesitant I went ahead, and got four meetings set up in my first hour of calling. Well! Not all churches after all, in fact very few!

We do of course have the luxury of turning certain types of business away. Of course we are all sinners, and it's not our place to judge, but we couldn't actively promote a local 'escort', or spiritual healer for example. These are both genuine types of business we have turned away.

Anyway, that's not exactly why I was blogging, I wanted to ask you all to 'like' our facebook page please! If you like the idea of a web developer who proudly wears his sandals to work, metaphorically of course, then please follow this link and 'like' us on Facebook. It would be much appreciated!
